On our last Sunday in Pottsville, we drove 30 minutes south to Bangalow to take in the local market held very second week. It was a great mix of food, crafts, art, and funk - and it gave Judy an opportunity to wear her gorgeous dress! Rowan also dressed up and here they are sitting on the deck of our townhouse.
We loved the laidback vibe in the town and enjoyed exploring the Tweed region; however, the beach in Pottsville was our favourite; it seemed to stretch on forever, and because there were so few people ever on it, it felt like it belonged to us. Judy managed to catch a couple of soldier crabs scurrying along the beach at low tide. What is remarkable about this photo is that there are only two; they usually move along a beach (forwards, NOT sideways, apparently) in the hundreds. Because of this phenomenon, they are imagined to move in "military formation."
The last shot is the last one taken by Judy on Pottsville Beach; she really didn't want to leave! The previous day we were treated to the amazing sight of three humpback whales breaching near this spot about 200-300 metres offshore - SPECTACULAR!!!!!
